STEMMER IMAGING is a leading international machine vision technology provider. One of many products is the internally developed imaging library Common Vision Blox. Joachim Meyer worked for 3 years as a C++ developer at Stemmer Imaging's software department on internal software architecture projects. He also maintained projects with a GPGPU backend.
In his bachelor thesis, written at Stemmer Imaging, Joachim evaluated CUDA, OpenCL, SYCL and Vulkan as GPGPU backends for image processing libraries, implementing a number of image processing algorithms for each API.
Some of the results of the bachelor thesis were presented at IWOCL & SYCLcon 2020 in the talk Evaluation of modern GPGPU technologies for image processing (presentation, abstract & decision table).
